Bryce Canyon National Park

Summer in the American Southwest   •   Part 2

 

Our journey continues towards Utah.

After a fantastic hike in Zion, it is time to discover the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon.

We arrived late in the afternoon at the Bryce Canyon Lodge, right in the heart of the park and we just had time to empty the trunk of our car and take possession of our room for the night. It was already time to get to the Rim and reach Sunset Point to not miss the event of the end of afternoon.

As we reached the edge of the rim, the first word that came to my mind was simply:

Woôoo !

When I discovered the amphitheater just below my feet I was totally bluffed. I knew it was going to be spectacular but the view from Sunset point was simply amazing. Also the colors of the hoodoos (from red to white with all the variations) were extraordinarily popping out with the soft and warm light of the sunset.
